Assisting the Engineering Sector
An engineering start up which machines aluminium parts for the luxury car market has already used the Michelin scheme on three occasions to purchase new machining centres for its up and coming business. One of the directors of the firm which has already surpassed its three year business plan in less than 18 months said that the scheme was "absolutely marvellous" and has helped in creating 25 new jobs. The company is now looking to use the free advice provided by Michelin to help develop its people and introduce a quality management system.

Supporting the Packaging Industry
Cash from Michelin Development has helped a long established packaging machinery manufacturer to successfully redevelop its range of over-wrapping machines, which now lead the way in this industry. The MD said that "although months of hard work have gone into producing this state-of-the-art machine, without Michelin Development funding we would certainly have not been able to have afforded to carry out this project for another 2 or 3 years". Sales of the new machine are going from strength to strength which has given the company the confidence to take on more staff. As well as benefiting from the cash, the company is also making use of Michelin contacts to try and reduce its purchasing spend.

Helping the Publishing Sector to Perform
Assistance from Michelin Development was used to help support a new up and coming publishing group. The loan which was used to help purchase equipment and provide working capital, has been put to good use by the dynamic management team which has already created 18 jobs in the first 12 months of trading. "We are delighted that Michelin has put its faith in our business plans, and its support will enable us to grow stronger" said the MD.
